About the authors

Dr. Marc Hurwitz, PhD MBA MSc MSc CMC
Marc is Chief Insight Officer of FliP University and Co-Author of the book, Leadership is Half the Story. He teaches entrepreneurship, leadership and followership in Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He has many years corporate and entrepreneurial experience in a myriad of diverse roles: marketing, HR, actuarial and IT. And, though as a kid, he dreamed of being a theoretical physicist or one of the Beatles, his path in life keeps pulling him back to his love of learning and teaching.To ensure he never becomes a woolly-headed academic, Marc also acts and directs community theatre, is a poet, and an avid pinball player.
Samantha Hurwitz, CPA
Samantha is Chief Encouragement Officer of FliP University and Co-Author of the book, Leadership is Half the Story. She has 25 years corporate, executive and entrepreneurial experience including Controller of a $7 billion organization, an IT Executive with a $50 million project portfolio, Chair of a global talent management program, and heaps of other projects. Now Samantha works with organizations around the globe to develop today’s essential workplace competencies: Followership, leadership, innovation & Partnership skills. She enjoys helping people have those “aha” and “ahhh” moments.
